What I would like to point out are two similar verses.
9 Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your godly ones sing for joy.
16 "Her priests also I will clothe with salvation, And her godly ones will sing aloud for joy
There are many verses all through scripture that list many wonderful reasons why a person should sing to the Lord. Here we see that the reason to sing for joy is salvation and righteousness.
God has called us to be a royal priesthood.
But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
1 Peter 2:9 NAS
And He has clothed us with righteousness and salvation - a fantastic reason to sing for joy. Some of you (more than are there now) should be singing in your local church choir. ALL of us should sing throughout the week and especially on Sundays as we gather for corporate worship.
SING FOR JOY. You have good reason.
