This week is an easy week. It will give you a chance to catch up on some of the harder verses if you need.
Luke 24:5b-6a NASB
"Why do you seek the living One among the dead? He is not here, but He has risen."
What a wonderful weekend of celebrating we have had at Hilldale.
The Passion Play was a wonderful re-telling of the great story of Jesus' death and resurrection as seen through the eyes of the two men on the road to Emmaus.
And then Sunday morning's worship services were full of music of celebration as we rejoiced with Christians all over the world as we remembered that resurrection morn.
In the early church as Christians gathered to worship (and still in many faith traditions) the worship leader would begin the service saying "Christ is risen." and then the congregation would respond, "He is risen indeed!"
We may practice that a few weeks before Easter next year. I really like that. Have a wonderful week!
Christ is risen!
(did you say it?)

Easter Music!
I Corinthians 14:3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; 8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also. NASB
There are so many great songs for Resurrection Sunday - aka. Easter.
Here are the ones we'll be singing - with orchestra: brass, woodwinds, strings, and band: guitars, drums, bass...
Alleluia! Alleluia! (exciting, jazzed up version)
Christ the Lord Is Risen Today! (again, a great new arrangement)
He Lives!
and one of my new favorite resurrection songs
Alive, Forever, Amen!
Colossians 1:18 NIV And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
Revelation 1:4 NIV Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,

Happy Easter
Today is Easter!
It's true. For Christians of the Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox and Coptic Christians (Egypt, Ethiopia) they are celebrating Christ's resurrection today. (35 days after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox)

While we may disagree on some doctirnal issues, we DO agree that Jesus Christ died for our sins and three days later rose from the dead. Hallelujah!
May you all have a blessed Easter.

Wednesday!
Here we are again, cruising through a Tuesday night. My lovely wife, Cheryl, is already asleep and I've grown bored with computer games, the New Hampshire election results are only interesting for so long, so naturally my thoughts have turned to Wednesday and, YEAH, Choir Rehearsal. I LOVE Wednesdays!
I really love the music in Bow the Knee too. If you missed rehearsal last week I hope you can join us tomorrow to hear this beautiful work.

And not only are the songs beautiful, the script is excellent. It looks at the last week of Jesus' life through the eyes of the Centurion - the one who had such great faith. You can read about him here - the story of the Centurion found in Matthew 8
There is all kinds of interesting information in tomorrow night's Inchoirer so be sure and pick up a copy. I'll post most of that info here on Thursday, but it's just not the same as reading it in person with all of your choir friends at 6:30 Wednesday night.
I'll be looking for you then!

Easter Preview
For those of you who don't have e-mail (or whose server blocks my e-inchoirers), here is a copy of something I just sent the choir. Of course, I suppose if you don't have e-mail then you probably don't check blogs either. Hello! It's 2008! You need e-mail!
“The Tree” was fantastic! I think I already mentioned that… but now my attention – our attention – needs to turn to Easter. As you’ve already heard from me, Easter is early this year! It can only be one day earlier and that can only happen when there is a full moon on March 21 when it is on a Saturday and then Easter will be on March 22. But the odds for that are rather astronomical. Well, I’ve distracted myself. The reason for this e-mail is to let you know that for everyone who can be here THIS Wednesday, we’ll have a sneak preview of Bow the Knee. This will be this year’s Passion Play.

For those of you who like to put things on your calendars here are some dates you need to know. (don’t worry, there will be more!)
March 13 – dress rehearsal
March 14-15 – evening performances
March 16 – afternoon performance
