Tonight's rehearsal begins at 6:00! This is earlier than the usual time. Spread the word.
If you have a student or family member as part of the cast please have them bring their costume tonight. They don't have to wear them for the rehearsal, but they need to be seen in them to make sure everything is ready for dress rehearsal tomorrow.
We are expecting REALLY BIG crowds. We have given away more tickets than we maybe should have. The excitement has caught on and we are getting tons of calls every day asking for more tickets. We're out! (And we printed a few more than we actually have seats for.....)
See you tonight at 6:00.

Rehearsals and Goats
In case you missed the e-mail from today, March 30.
two quick things…
1. Wednesday's rehearsal will start at 6:00. This may rush you a little,
but it will keep us from staying as late. Yeah.

2. Some of you had told me about goats you know - or at least someone who
has goats. I didn't write these things down because I thought I had all of
the goats I need. But I could actually use about two more goats, so remind
me of the goats you know.
See you Wednesday!
Hahahaha! Then I got a reply to my e-mail that said,
"Do you really want me to name all of the old goats I know?" Hahahaha!

Nope.

That's My Flag

That's My Flag is the second song in our mini patriotic musical.

We're singing it THIS Sunday, July 6, during our 9:00 service.

So I KNOW you'll want to be in rehearsal tonight!

The music is EASY, so even if you missed last week you can still sing with us.

I'm excited to be able to have the entire choir sing together on a Sunday morning (instead of splitting into two services).
So, I'll be looking for you tonight at 6:30 at the FLC.

The Final Stretch
I had a weird dream the other night. I was at the races, only it wasn't horses, it was Christmas camels. It was getting close to the end of the race and you could hear the announcer shouting out - in a most excited voice - which camel was in the lead. "And now, ladies and gentlemen, we're moving into the final stretch. Drama is moving up on the inside, but no, wait, orchestra is trying to cut him off. Choir is still leading by a nose but is trying to pull further ahead as they round the last turn..."

I guess the excitement of all that is happening in the next two weeks just got to me. Are you excited? You should be! "The Tree" is almost here! Woo-hoo!

So I'm certain you are planning on being in rehearsal this Wednesday night. We'll start early for those who can get here (6:15) and then we'll keep going until 8:00. See you then!

Doesn't "bonus" sound like such a great deal? Extra time with friends singing great Christmas music and it doesn't cost anything more!
The first bonus rehearsal up is this Sunday night at 6:30. If you are attending the Thanksgiving dinner then just head to the choir room after you eat. If you aren't eating here then you can get to the choir room whenever you want to. We'll rehearse until 8:00.

We WILL NOT have child care that night, so a spouse or parent or friend will need to watch your kiddos. or bring them with you. They can sing along.

The next Wednesday rehearsal will be Nov. 28.
We will "stage" the tree - meaning, put you all in the tree, actors on the stage, children and youth in the aisles for "Christmastime" and "He Reigns" on Saturday night, Dec. 8 from 6:00-8:00 pm. We will have child care this night. This is a very important time for you to be here!

Thursday, Dec. 13 is our dress rehearsal at 6:00 pm. The orchestra will be here and we need all choirs and actors and light people and sound people and camera people and anyone else that is involved to be here! There will be child care.

Performances are Dec. 14-15 at 7 with a call time (meaning that's when you need to showup) of 6:00.
The matinee performance on Dec. 16 is at 3 with a call time of 2:00.
It's going to be wonderful! I can hardly wait!

Hooray! Wednesday's Almost Here
I've really missed rehearsing on Wednesdays! First, I really like seeing you all. Second, "the Tree" is like almost tomorrow! I feel comfortable that you know the music, but that's with music. I'm a little anxious as to how comfortable we will all be without music. Sooooo. I hope you are all planning on being at rehearsal tomorrow night. We will start about 6:15 or so for a little bonus time. We will get to keep rehearsing until just a little before 8:00!

Some Updates
1. Don't forget we have an extra rehearsal tomorrow morning (Saturday, Nov. 3) from 9-11 to make up for the two Wednesday rehearsals we are missing.
2. I've updated the accompaniment to "Go Reach the World" where it matches the track the trio is used to singing to.
3. I haven't forgotten about Praise Teams. Our sound guys are working on purchasing a monitor system where the Praise Teams will be able to do their own mix so they have just the right amount of piano, voice and band. This will make everyone's Sunday mornings so much easier. As soon as we get the system in we'll have a training night so everyone can try it out to see how it works. I think you'll all be very pleased with it.
Sorry, No pretty pictures on this post.

A Sneak Peek
Tomorrow night is our Christmas party! I thought you might like a sneak peek of some of the things you'll see at the party.Don't forget to bring some finger food. We'll start filling our plates about 6:15, but we won't open the doors to the choir room until 6:22.
a HUGE thanks needs to be said to Star, Lynn and Donna for all they have done to help me get ready for the Christmas party. And of course I couldn't do all that I do without my lovely wife Cheryl at my side. Wait 'til you see the cool present she made for each of you!
I'm verrry excited about Christmas. See you Wednesday!

Merry Christmas!

"Christmas is coming the geese are getting fat.
Please put a penny in the old man's hat."
Please put a penny in the old man's hat."
(This silly goose thought the "Christmas Goose" got to sing a solo in "the Tree". You can see how disappointed he is when he found out what you really do with the goose!)
I want to be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas in 2007!
We're having a big Christmas party this Wednesday night. We'll have cookies and punch and finger foods (if you bring them) (anyone have a good "goose" recipe?) and we'll have a first listen to the music for "the Tree"! Bring someone with you!
Join us Wednesday night at 6:30 (you can come a little early for Christmas snacks)

I love Wednesdays!

Do you remember this nursery rhyme?
Monday's child is fair of face.
Tuesday's child is full of grace.
Wednesday's child is full of woe.
Wednesday's child is full of woe.
It was that poem that inspired Gomez and Morticia Adams to name their daughter Wednesday.
But Wednesday isn't a day of woe at all. It's a great day!
It's not because the work week is half over and you can see the weekend just around the corner, and it's not because it's "take your kids out to eat for half price at that yummy restaurant across town" day. It's because Wednesday night from 6:30-7:30 is choir rehearsal time! We get to sing, laugh, pray and fellowship together. Wednesday choir rehearsal is the perfect pick-me-up for the middle of the week.
This Wednesday's rehearsal is a very special one because it is my first rehearsal as Hilldale's Worship Pastor. I'm sooooo excited. You all have been so wonderful the last two Sundays singing songs you had barely rehearsed. It will be wonderful to actually spend some time on the songs we will sing Sunday.
I'll be looking for you Wednesday - 6:30 - in the choir room. Bring someone with you.
Bro. Lyndel
