On the Way to 50,000

Oh my! We are less than 100 hits away from the 50,000 hits mark on our worship blog. How fun is that?

Since we're hitting such a big number I decided we needed a big prize for the person who gets the 50,000 hit, so...

Wow! Big Number of Hits

I just looked at my hit counter and we are just 80 hits away from 45,000 hits! Cool! I suppose I should have a prize for the 45,000th hit, hmm would you call that person the hittER? or hittEE? or something else?

So someone - a non-blogger type person - the other day asked me what the point was of blogging. I thought that was a valid question. So I thought about it a little and came up with a list of things that I hope are accomplished by this blog.

1. Entertainment - I'm at least entertaining myself with some of the things I write about.

2. Inspiration - It's my prayer that through the words/messages posted here that you and other readers will - at least a few times a month - be inspired to join a choir, read your Bible, join others in worship this week, etc.

3. Education - Now and then  readers of my blogs should learn a little something - perhaps a spiritual truth you hadn't thought of before, what an alto clef looks like, when our next performance is... those kinds of things.

So... it looks like we're all winners when we read Hilldale's Worship Blog. (Does that mean I don't have to have a prize for hit 45,000?)

30,000 hits! soon!

Oh my! I was going to mention this earlier, but since I was out of town Friday and Saturday at the East Tennessee State Handbell Festival I didn't get this posted, but we are just a few hits away from number 30,000! Wow!

I never posted the winner of our 20,000th hit. Here she is - Phyllis - receiving her prize. It's an original painting by yours truly (where did that I phrase originate? I'll have to check into that.)

Well, anyway, I was trying to think of a good prize for 20,000 and I knew that Phyllis collects miniature paintings and so I decided to paint her one. I wasn't sure what to paint for 20,000 when I thought of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. So on the painting are two little orange fish and if you look toward the bottom of the painting you'll see 20,000 in the seaweeds.

10,000th Hit Winner

You may remember that a week or so ago we were getting close to our 10,000th hit on our worship blog. To celebrate or commemorate the event we offered a prize to our 10,000th visitor.

On the original post there was a picture of 10,000 drum sounds. (What could be more appropriate for a "hit" on a music blog than drums? http://hilldaleworship.blogspot.com/2008/03/10000.html is the original post if you want to see it.
