This same thought is presented as a command to us in Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. They knew that they had freedom in Christ - that they were no longer bound by the law. Paul wanted them to think past their freedom and to their responsibility to other believers.
1 Corinthians 10:23 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
If you don't know the entire background to this click here to read the entire passage. 1 Corinthians 10:23-33
In this passage you'll find these words (which I thought of when reading Psalm 115:1)
31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
So how are you living your life? Are you doing everything for the glory of God? If not, why not?
