The title says "a psalm for the sabbath day," so how fun that it was our reading for our day of worship. The first four verses are a great call to worship.
1 It is good to give thanks to the LORD And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night, 3 With the ten-stringed lute and with the harp, With resounding music upon the lyre. 4 For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands
You may have noticed a line (and I've pointed out before how Darlene Zschech uses lines from the Psalms in her writing) from a few of our favorite songs we sing in worship. ♫ I sing for joy at the works of Your hands ♪ from "Shout to the Lord" for one.
It's been a very long day with worship this morning and rehearsals all afternoon - but a very good day. So let me just say in our worship we need to declare God's lovingkindness in the morning and His faithfulness by night and sing with instruments and SING FOR JOY!
